Locking Wedge Casement Fastener – weather stripped windows
A locking wedge casement fastener for weather stripped windows. Weather stripping reduces drafts and prevents rain and external moisture from coming into the house. The two main types of weatherstrip are nail-on and adhesive backed self-stick tapes.
This wedge pattern fastener is a classic design and suitable for standard timber windows that have been fitted with weather stripping. Sold singly with fittings and a locking Allen key, the handle in available in six distinct finishes. Choose aged brass for a period look, or polished chrome for more modern homes.
For standard windows please see the Standard Locking Wedge Casement Fastener. See also our range of co-ordinating Casement Stays in matching finishes.
A wedge fastener is a particular style of window handle, including a fastener handle which is fitted to the window and a ‘wedge’ part that is fitted to the frame. In the closed position, the handle is pulled over the plate. This wedge pattern is designed to compress the window in its frame for an extra tight seal.
The locking function is available by using the Allen key supplied, which operates a grub screw. Please note: This window lock is not a Security lock.
