Rosehead Nails
Rosehead nails offer authentic period detail for your restoration projects. These hand forged nails are individually crafted on the anvil and available in 35mm and 65mm sizes in antique iron or pewter finishes. See our full range of Hand Forged Ironmongery for co-ordinating products.
This type of nail is known as ‘rosehead’ because the hammered head of the nail has four sections similar to petals on a rose. The nails are ideal for doors, upholstery and floorboards. The antique iron nails have a dark steel self-colour while the pewter nails offer wonderful rustic appeal.
PLEASE NOTE: The nails are made from mild steel and will rust when used on external surfaces or exposed to the elements. This is not a fault of the product but is to be expected. Using a protective rub of a light oil or natural beeswax will help to reduce the amount of oxidisation.
For measurements of the rosehead nails, please see the PDF drawing in Dimensions. The nails are individually hand made and the size of each may vary +/- 2mm.
