Tudor Cottage Gate Latch
The Tudor Cottage Gate Latch is ideal for garden doors, gates and sheds. This gate latch has a simple ring turn handle mechanism with a latch bar fixed to a solid rectangular back plate. A traditional latch, perfect for a cottage garden gate and can also be used as a shed door handle.
The latch bar with ring handle is fitted to the side of the door that opens towards you and the single ring handle is fitted to the side opening away from you. Please select a left or right handed latch from the drop-down list above. See our helpful Gate Latch Handing Guide HERE for help with choosing the correct handing.
The gate latch parts are made from solid cast iron which has undergone a zinc phosphating process and coated with a black powder finish which is UV and rust resistant. Supplied with rust resistant stainless steel screws.
Note: Not suitable for coastal locations.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Cast iron is a ferrous metal. The black coating on the latch offers rust protection, however oxidisation will occur in places where the coating becomes worn or damaged, especially around moving parts and screw holes. Before fitting and for ongoing maintenance, it helps to apply a light oil onto the moving parts to prevent corrosion. See our blog article How To Remove Rust Spots. Coastal areas are especially prone to rusting issues and if you have a seaside property, we advise choosing the Thumb Latch With Armor-Coat instead.
