Tudor Gate Latch
The Tudor Gate Latch is a rustic thumb latch from our Garden Gate Furniture Collection. Suitable for external doors and is ideal for gates and sheds. This is a classic cast iron thumb latch, inspired by period styles, with a rounded arrow end motif design. Traditional ironmongery for your garden doors and gates. Co-ordinate with matching Tudor Gate Hinges to complete the country cottage look.
Tip: The thumb latch part is fitted to the side of the door opening away from you, and the latch bar with locking chain is fitted to the side of the door opening towards you. Please take this into consideration when hanging new garden doors/gates.
This cast iron latch has undergone a zinc phosphating process and has a hardwearing UV and rust resistant coating. Supplied with rust resistant stainless steel screws and a useful locking chain for privacy purposes.
Note: Not suitable for coastal locations.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Cast iron is a ferrous metal. The black coating on the latch offers rust protection, however oxidisation will occur in places where the coating becomes worn or damaged, especially around moving parts and screw holes. Before fitting and for ongoing maintenance, it helps to apply a light oil onto the moving parts to prevent corrosion. See our blog article How To Remove Rust Spots.
